Caroline Howe

Art is a way for me to express the deep appreciation I have for life and the amazing unending beauty and changes around me.

I have had the privilege of working with several individual artists : John Whalley, Thomas Nash, Abby Williams, Sally Loughridge, Mike Rooney.

I am a member of the Portrait Society and have studied at Maine Art College, Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA and the Farnsworth Art Museum.

My goal is to capture the soul or spirit of whatever I am painting or drawing.  I would like to evoke a feeling, a sense of surprise and/or an understanding of the situation. Often I try to make a statement, always remembering the underlying joy and humor in life as well as the tenderness of sadness.
