Saltwater Artists Opens for 2016 Season

Saltwater Artists have been busy preparing the gallery for their traditional Memorial Day weekend opening day on Friday, May 27th. The gallery has been cleaned, shined and repainted inside and sports a new sign outside. This long standing non profit coop of nearly thirty members represent some of the best of the midcoast artists working in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, wood turning, jewelry, glass and pottery.

Loyal patrons and visitors who have enjoyed making a summer visit to this gallery for over twentyfive years will be rewarded this season by viewing exciting fresh work by old favorites supplemented by wonderful presentations by new members. This year new artists include sculptor Cynthia Smith, fused glass artist Pam Wilcox and local jeweler Cat Crozier. The gallery also welcomes new painters Julianna Acheson (watercolor), Teddi-Jann Covell (oil and pastel), Alison's Dibble (oil and watercolor), Carolyn Gabbe (oil) and Kat Logan who will hang her oils and also show porcelain and stoneware pottery. The Saltwater Artists, both new and continuing members, plan to welcome the public at their annual Summer Reception on Friday July 15th from 5-7 pm.

The doors open Friday, May 27  through Monday May 30; hours are 10 am to 5 pm. Thereafter, the gallery will be open Fridays through Sundays until June 17th when the gallery will change to its summer schedule and be open seven days a week through Columbus Day. Saltwater Artists Gallery is located near the end of Route 130 on the left just prior to the turn to Pemaquid Lighthouse Park.
