Scott White

Scott is a native New Englander who grew up in Raynham, Massachusetts. During his youth he spent his free time roaming the countryside and summering on a harbor down at Rose Point, MA where he fished and rowed. This early freedom sowed the seed of his lifelong love of nature. Scott spent most of his working years as a Master Printer utilizing the Pantone Matching System. When he wasn’t mixing colors or running a press, Scott was canoe racing, marathon running and raising four sons.

After moving to New Hampshire in mid life, Scott continued to enjoy nature while living at beautiful Bow Lake in Strafford. Watching loon life, herons in the cove and of course exquisite fall foliage propelled his reflective personality toward a new hobby. In his fifties, Scott took up drawing. It wasn’t long before he began painting and seriously studying the various methods of landscape painting. In particular he is a long time student of Canadian Master Painter Johannes Vloothuis and Richard Robinson from New Zealand.

Having vacationed on the Pemaquid Peninsula since 1979, Chamberlain, Maine is the perfect retirement destination for Scott. His love of four season terrain and bodies of water is now at home in this Mid-Coast Maine location. Scott draws inspiration for his art from his view of Muscongus Bay. Happiness, peace and pleasant memories are the emotional responses, Scott seeks to create through his paintings. He accomplishes this by pushing the warmer colors past reality, while relying on the varied weather patterns to add excitement. His goal is to capture the sea with all its diverse shorelines, marine life, aquatic birds, lighthouses and, most of all, its glorious waves.
