About the Gallery

The not-for-profit Saltwater Artists Gallery is a cooperative adventure in the arts.

The gallery is a non-profit which is owned and operated by the membership. Each summer, approximately twentyfive jury-selected artists exhibit. They work in every medium: painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, woodturning, glass, jewelry, and pottery. The gallery shares an eclectic mix with the visiting public and hosts several events throughout the season.

A little history; we are a very old artists cooperative - over 50 years and counting! The cooperative began in 1967 as the Waldoboro Gallery Association. During 1996 and 1997 it operated as the Medomak River Gallery before moving into the old Driftwood Shop on Pemaquid Point in 1998. Under a new name, the Saltwater Artists rented with an option to buy and purchased the property in 1999. We have been here ever since!
