I like to think of myself as a story teller. Years ago, when I first started taking photographs, my focus was on taking a ‘pretty picture’. After years of practice and study, my focus is now on ‘composition, light and mood’. I like to think that my images tell a story or inspire an emotion. A rendition of a lighthouse on a foggy day might evoke a feeling of solitude. A close-up of an intricate flower might evoke an appreciation of the beauty and wonder of nature. An image of an old apple press might evoke an appreciation of the distant past.
My photo prints are either a realistic representation of the original or manipulated into a composite or even an abstract.
My portfolio includes seascapes, landscapes, lighthouses, still life images and flowers. These are printed on fine art paper or canvas. What better place to capture the beauty around me than the dramatic coast of Maine.
