A native of Buffalo, NY, Mary Buergin received her degree in Fine Arts from Buffalo State College. She began her career working as an illustrator for an advertising agency in Buffalo, NY and ran her own interior design company for over ten years, doing both commercial and residential design. Mary moved to New Hampshire in 1992, and began her love affair with the New England landscape. She has been a Maine resident since 2013. Her focus is on creating representational landscapes, both in the studio and en plein air, that capture a sense of tranquility and intrigue. She has also been teaching pastel and oil painting for over 20 years, helping students express their own personal vision of their art. She has also launched a successful business painting realistic and expressive dog portraits.
