Molly Mugler

I am a reformed corporate attorney whose artistic interests were only intermittently pursued during my legal career. But 10 years of retirement allowed me lean into my art. Originally from Buffalo, NY, with a 45-year stopover in Massachusetts, I now reside in Cushing, Maine and Vero Beach, Florida.

My work reflects my love for Maine’s natural environment, translating its atmosphere into layered, textured visuals. I paint what is immediately around me, drawn to the unique scenes of coastal Maine, transitions of light and shadow and negative space. While watercolors have been my primary medium, I also work in oil, acrylic, gouache, and other mediums.

My miniature worlds of 3-D dioramas are carefully constructed, often capturing Maine’s coastal charm, forests, and meadows. They invite viewers to step into a scene and feel part of it. My drone-assisted aerials allow me to portray unique perspectives of the Mid-Coast’s intricate coastline and a bird’s eye view of the landscape.

In addition to the art displayed here at Saltwater Artists Gallery, you can see my work on Instagram #mollymuglerart, at Art Space Gallery in Rockland, ME.
